  • CSV-3100B - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 11/11/12 Worked as advertised. I have a 1.5 acre lot and have been accumulating a large pile of limbs and small trees so I finally broke down a bought the chipper. Not cheap but it handled everything I threw at it. Tree limbs that were very crocked did require trimming to get down the shoot but some straight small pine trees less than 3" at the bottom when thru limbs and all. Would a cheaper chipper have worked, don't know, but I am very pleased with the Patriot Chipper and nice to be able to buy something still made in USA.   By Maine12 Read More...
  • CBV-2455H - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 11/05/12 I have wanted a yard vac ever since moving into my current home. I used to use my Stihl blower/vac for fall cleanup, but it was very cumbersome. As good as my Stihl is, it is no match for my fairly large yard with mature maple and cottonwood trees. I wanted a good yard vacuum but was less than impressed by the Troy Bilt's I was looking at. I did some research and found Patriot. There are two models; one with a Honda engine and one with a Brigg's engine. I'm a Honda small engine fan so it was a no brainer. I could have saved $300 if I would have bought the Brigg's powered model, but who... Read More...
  • CSV-2515 - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 10/27/12Last weekend we ripped out a boxwood hedge that was 6 feet by 4 feed by 5 feet tall. My wife wanted me to rent a chipper shredder to get rid of it. We moved recently and with all of the deciduous trees on our new lot and all of the deadfall wood we get, I decided we needed to invest in a chipper shredder. I researched and decided to order the Patriot.I unboxed and assembled my Patriot chipper/shredder yesterday. It's very easy to do if your read all of the directions. I fired it up today and got rid of every bit of that boxwood in about an hour and a half (half the time it took us to rip that ... Read More...
  • CSV-2515 - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 10/21/12 I love this wood chipper/shredder. It's sturdy enough and powerful enough to handle everything I threw at it. As long as I fed materials in at a reasonably steady rate and didn't try to force the materials in, it did a great job and never clogged or shut down - even with green materials. And when I re-fed the chipped materials through the shredder, it reduced the time necessary to turn the materials into compost. Some of the reviews made me hesitate to buy this shredder, but now that I've used it I can't imagine why those reviewers had problems (except the guy who had problems feeding ... Read More...
  • CSV-2515 - 4 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 10/17/12Our needs - We have woods on three sides of our house. Each fall we get buried in leaves, twigs and sticks. The volume has been overwhelming. We also have a number of raised garden areas and plenty of flower beds. Our answer - We purchased a Patriot electric shredder with a 100' 20A extension cord. Great used units are also out there. Just keep looking.Yesterday was the first time using the shredder. It did get clogged up a few times in the learning process but it took less than 5 minutes to figure out just how fast you can feed stuff into it to prevent that from happening. If you load too many... Read More...
  • Gator Grabber - 4 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 09/22/12So far the Gator Grabber is working out pretty well. I've had a bit of a problem in keeping the handles from turning once I have tightened them after setting the pole length. The poles simply use twisting motion that tightens the more you turn it to keep the pole adjusted for length. A positive lock or pin of some sort would have been better. I'm working on my turning and twisting technique and how I pivot my arms and body when using them to avoid always unscrewing one pole or the other. It takes some practice and I can get used to it.I was looking for a solution so I would not have to use a r... Read More...
  • CSV-2515 - 1 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 09/20/12 The top hopper pinches down to a very small opening before the leaves and any TINY branches can enter the mechanism. Just look at the picture of the top black chute. Feeding down through the top quickly causes a jamb. The directions state that branches 1/2 inch diameter and less can be feed in the top chute. Don't try it, leaves alone cause a jamb and it quickly becomes useless. These are 1/2 inch or less diameter stickes with small leaves. I could not shred a cut up hedge! The chipper part only has one blade, so it is a slow and bumpy process. Poorly designed and vibrated from day one... Read More...
  • CSV-3065B - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 09/17/12Have only used it twice but am soon to really put it to good use as I have piles of limbs and more to come at this time of year with three fruitless Mulberry trees growing like mad.Have an electric, much cheaper model (nothing but problems), and this new gas baby is certainly up to the job I need it for._____________________________________________________________________________Now since I have had or taken the time to use the chipper on the really hard work, I found it amazing for the job it was intended. In the past, It has always been a pain to set up and prepare branches for chipping (oth... Read More...
  • CSV-2515 - 1 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 09/14/12I was very pleased to locate what looked like a high quality shredder that was electric, and purchased this unit with high hopes. It immediately became clear that, despite it's powerful appearance, this shredder is just awful. It clogged upon each use and I spent 30 minutes of each use just dismantling it so that I could attempt to unclog it. Finally I called the owner of the company, who admitted that this unit must be fed very slowly, with just a little bit of yard debris at a time. When I indicated that I thought a shredder at this price should be more functional, he became aggressively insu... Read More...
  • Gator Grabber - 5 out of 5 stars - Amazon Customer Review - Posted 08/23/12 My magnolia tree sheds leaves 365 days a year except for leap year when it sheds for 366 days. I had no idea that this was a constant shedder when I bought and planted the tree. Unfortunately, I planted the tree in my front yard so I try to keep the leaves picked up although admitedly I skip a day now and then. This has been a major nuisance bending over and scooping up the leaves until the Gator Grabber came along. Now I can more easily grab the leaves and dump them into my cart. Still a nuisance but not as major as pre-Gator Grabber. Very handy tool and well worth the price.  By... Read More...
